Entering the grounds of the property, visitors are immediately stunned by the sheer attention to detail evident in the brickwork. In fact, over 50,000 bricks were used in the development, each one handmade by two local craftsmen. The majority of materials and craftwork was sourced locally within a 30-mile radius of the property as the Midlands is blessed with such a talented and varied pool of craftspeople.

The architecture revolves around a central atrium and due to the depth of the Georgian design, natural light floods the hallway via this gallery. However, this left the room with a huge void. Grove Life’s property developers felt that something was missing to give it a focal point. To this end, the world’s most revered glass designer was flown in specially to create a bespoke, one-off Venetian chandelier which truly is a work of art and leaves visitors in a state of complete awe.

Marrying the old with the new was the inspiration of the design throughout. The bar located in the games room was salvaged from an old burned-down Georgian pub on the famous Old Kent Road in London. It was restored in all its former glory and is now an integral feature of a house that also holds an ultra-modern theatre room with all the trimmings.
